‘24 days of self care’
December is a time for giving, but we must remember that includes ourselves too!
We talk a lot about self care nowadays and adverts, TV and social media, can confuse us as to what we ‘should’ be doing and distract us from what we actually mean by self care.
In essence it’s about the little things we do to look after our own mental health. It’s about trying to listen to how we are feeling and to understand what we need so we can look after ourselves.
This action can take many forms and is completely unique to you. What’s important about self care is what it does for you and how it makes you feel.
With the count down to Christmas I will highlight some ideas to try.
Today is all about listening to music! Music can be incredibly powerful and can evoke all sorts of emotions, so make sure you have an upbeat playlist with songs that are guaranteed to make you laugh, smile, sing, and dance. When you are feeling 'out-of-sorts', angry, agitated or irritable, pop on your playlist and I guarantee it will take the heat out of any situation!
Be kind to yourselves
